INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY has been tremendously improved with the prolific research of America experts in communication technology.

Internet technology is a little older in technology. In general, it has been in existence since 60's When the United State Department of Defence (DOD) Which has global nature of activities. The wanted a wide area network (WAW)that would allow their computers in different ways to inter connect and inter - operate.As it maintains operations though peace keeping in foreign countries and in defence of America interests in other nations that will found the need to have a network that inter - connected the on-line defence formations any where in the world,hence the internet comes.

With the concept in mind about 1964,gathered scientist together to realize the possibility of this WAW to take control of their systems. This Department of Defence (DOD)created an Agency know as Defencey know as Advanced Research projects Agency (ARPA)which is presently know as Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA).
The process of executing this project seems evolving programmed of activities.

There was the introductory programmer,which they called internet protocol (IP),and the other transmission control protocol (TCP). Both on working partnership gave the actual transmission control pro9tocol (TCP/IP).

There researcher found enabling environment (a)University Stanford Research Institute, (b) The University of Utah, (c) University of California at Santa Barbara and (d) University of California, LosAngels.

A successful test was conducted in September, 1996 as a connection of these sites though computer network as website, it confirmed by the proficiency of the research, hence the name given to the project after successfully concluded was Advanced Research Project Agency Network (ARPANET).
In carrying out a pilot test,the researchs used the new technology to send files and receive mails.The credit for this achievement however goes to the United State Government for detecting,furnishing and finishing the technology. Today, almost everybody in the world is getting connected through this great internet! Because the finding was successful, and it was not a top secret, the general public ,e.g. Organizations, Schools,Companies, individual, e.t.c.Joining in the before long the internet evolved, as a result institutions and government outside the USA began joining it until it became the best of the technology today .

Finally, the internet is a network of networks, a society of interconnected computers, spanning the entire globe. The connection however made possible over telephone lines and recently cable modem, fiberoptic cables which is just like ordinary telephone cable like type you use to access to any website throughout the world..
